Benefiting the Carmel Foundation
The Carmel Foundation was founded in 1950 by community members who noticed the growing needs of their aging neighbors. Although both the needs and interests of its members have changed over the years, their desire to facilitate an active and healthy lifestyle for each is integral with today's goals and vision for the Foundation. At this time, The Carmel Foundation services over 3,200 members on the Monterey Peninsula.
For seniors struggling financially, The Carmel Foundation provides assistance via respite care and low-income housing so those who have made this community what it is today are not forced to relocate away from the area they call home. Other valuable services offered include free medical equipment loans, respite grants, an onsite lunch program, meal delivery to homebound seniors, blood pressure checks, free lending library and over 50 classes and activities offered weekly.
As The Carmel Foundation does not accept government funding, they rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to support the many programs and services offered to the senior population. Your investment in the community's seniors is greatly appreciated.
